CARING FOR ARTWORK
Prints: Handle unframed prints gently to prevent folds, dents or creases.
When you first remove your print from its shipping tube, it’s probably best to keep it in its protective, clear mylar (plastic) sleeve until it is framed. For now, you can view your print right through the sleeve.
However, should you wish to remove the print from its sleeve, make sure your hands are clean and dry to prevent staining the paper by the naturally occurring oils we all have on our skin … don’t touch the printed image itself at any time.
After inspecting your print, carefully re-insert it into its clear sleeve, roll it back up and keep it in the shipping tube until you get it to the framer.
Once framed, do not allow glass cleaner to flow behind the frame as this could stain the print.
Abstract Paintings: These should be cleaned as needed with a feather-duster only.
There are three labels on the back of each abstract painting. One label shows the name of the painting, my name, the medium and the painting’s creation date.
The second label has my hand-written signature upon it.
So that everyone knows where I meant the top of the painting to be (the way you see it in the gallery) the third label simply states TOP. Point this out to whoever does the framing for you.
